S.B.S.S.P.S.j College Pathargama Godda Jharkhand was founded on 9th March,1980 having in its background the remote area under the ailment of economic and social backwardness . The site where the College is situated was craving for the opening a seat of higher education since there was no institution to impart degree level education to those matric passed students who were enthusiastic to swim over the very challenging river of higher education .These learners were in oblivion as they belonged to ST,SC, Minority and other backward communities .Some educationists and social activists of the village Pathargama came forward and the College from March 1980 to 1984 was run in the local middle school building, in morning shift. Late Shashi Bhushan Singh,Local landlord of Village Barcope donated land in some acres for the site of the College. Satyendra Prasad Singh donated a cash amount of Rs. 1 lakh. Late Keshow Prasad Bhagat and Late Nandlal Dalmia,residents of Pathargama each of them donated for building a 20’x40’ room .Late Dr. Ram Prawesh Yadav,a great educationist, resident of Babupur,Pathargama was the doner member in the first governing body of the College. On 24th June 1984 the present building of the College was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chancellor Late Dr. A.R Kidwai, of Bihar (Including Jharkhand) . Since its inception the College has been nourishing its rawmaterial in the form of students to become a model citizen of India . The College under the idealistic head ship of Dr. Birendra Kumar Singh Strictly follows the statement, education always grooms the students for the greater wars of life and enable them to stand in a good stead in future .
